Learning Groups
Adult Groups
Real Lutherans of Bellaire (Sunday | 10:45am | Fellowship Hall)
A pop-up learning class with different topics every week for people who cannot attend regularly or prefer a less-structured class. Examples of past classes include learning about the Chinese culture of our fellow members, engaging in community service activities, and diving into different spiritual practices (such as meditation).
Circle of Friends (Sunday | 10:45am | Main - Room 124)
A group designed for fellowship and building community. The goal of this Sunday learning group is to come together, support one another and live the Christian life together. All are welcome.
Making Sense of the Christian Faith
Making Sense of the Christian Faith is an exciting and inviting exploration of the major theological doctrines of the Christian faith. Written as a conversation that invites you to "jump into" the conversation, the text stimulates the reader's thinking instead of attempting to persuade a particular point of view.
Youth Groups
Preschool (Sunday | 10:45am | Main - Room 205)
We use the Godly Play curriculum and materials for our Preschool learning. Through engaging storytelling, hands on materials, and the opportunity to wonder and reflect, Godly Play nurtures our children’s innate spirituality and provides the space for children to explore the mystery of God’s presence in their lives. The lessons rooted in Bible stories teach the children Biblical literacy and language in an age-appropriate and engaging way.

moreMiddle School And Confirmation (Sunday | 10:45am | Conf. Room)
Middle school is a time of dramatic changes in the lives of youth, from body to school changes. At Faith Bellaire, we recognize the ongoing changes that middle school students experience and we strive to “walk beside them” as a partner on their journey. The middle school ministry is centered around the Confirmation ministry and its faith development goals. In the Lutheran church, middle school youth are typically called “Confirmands” because of the heavy emphasis on the Confirmation ministry that takes place during the 6th – 8th grade years.
At Faith Bellaire, we believe informed faithful individuals make better disciples. Therefore, we take time each week during the school year to teach our youth the basics of the faith and teach them Christian living. We teach and instill faith development based on three assumptions that are backed by research. We believe that…
- Faith is taught at home
- Faith is instilled by parents and close family members
- The church is a partner with families and individuals in faith formation
Confirmation is an in-depth faith development program designed for middle school (6th – 8th grade) youth. We focus on basic Christian concepts (Trinity, sanctification, salvation, etc) and the foundations of our Lutheran heritage (The Creed, the Reformation, Martin Luther, Augsburg Confession, The Bible, etc). We teach these concepts through small groups, fun and faithful activities, service projects, weekend retreats, and family activities at home.
moreHigh School (Sunday | 10:45am | Fellowship Hall)
At Faith Lutheran Church, faith formation begins at home from our earliest days. As we grow into our elementary years, the Christian faith is nurtured through the stories of the Bible in our Learning Groups. In middle school, we introduce more complex biblical and Lutheran theological concepts. When a young person reaches high school age, we believe that faith development takes on a new twist. During this time we invite high schoolers to join in the adult learning group at 10:45 AM on Sunday mornings in the Fellowship Hall so that they are learning along side adults cross generationally. Throughout the year, we take opportunities to instill Christian practices and leadership skills through participation in summer camps, retreats, one-day gatherings, small group fellowship, music ensembles, a summer mission trip and Sunday morning study.
