WELCA
All women who are members of Faith Lutheran Church are also considered to be members of WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America). Women are involved in all aspects of life of Faith Lutheran Church and take part in an annual Thankoffering gathering at a Sunday worship service. There are several organized women’s groups that meet at the church for a variety of purposes including Bible study, fellowship, and service.
Rebecca-Ruth Circle
This circle meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM for a Bible study led by Pastor Kerry. The group also takes part in service projects which include sending cards and Advent booklets to homebound members of Faith, donating time and money to various projects, and helping with food items for Lenten and Advent lunches. The circle also purchases and delivers Christmas gifts to our homebound members. We invite all women to join us.
This multi-generational group of women meets on the second Tuesday of the month (except for March and December when they will be meeting on Wednesday to prepare lunch for the midweek service; no meetings in June through August) to help with various tasks around the church and then goes out to lunch together. Past projects have included cleaning and organizing storage and kitchen areas, decorating the sanctuary Christmas tree, preparing and serving Advent and Lenten lunches and assembling silent auction baskets. The group also finds plenty of time for fun including an annual Epiphany party and off-campus excursions. It’s a fun and rewarding way to serve the church, get to know other women in the church and try out some great restaurants!
